Which institution of D2 should you pick ?

District 2 of Ho Chi Minh City is renowned for hosting a large part of the expatriate population of the city, and is thus well endowed with international schools, which often offers great facilities, shuttle services, as well as providing many extra-curricular activities.

Among its students, L’Atelier An Phu welcomes pupils attending both French and English international institutions, amongst which we find :

English Speaking Schools of District 2 :

 

  • American School : Less expensive and more recent (opened since 2010) than its counterparts below, the American School covers all ages up to the High School level, prepares for SATs and has many facilities.

  • Australian International School : Founded in 2006, AIS has 3 campuses in District 2, covering all ages, from Kindergarten to Senior School. More than 1,100 students from 35 countries attend it.

  • British International School : With an impressive campus in the heart of Thao Dien dating from 2002, the BIS is the largest international school in Vietnam, claiming some 1,800 students from 50 different countries. It prepares for many examinations such as IGSCSE, Cambridge Exams, and the International Baccalaureate.

  • European International School Ho Chi Minh City : From Pre-School to Secondary School, EISHCMC essentially prepares for IB. Also located in the center of Thao Dien, its campus is smaller than other institutions, but equally well equipped.

  • ISHCMC : Oldest international school in Vietnam (1993), the International School of Ho Chi Minh City is however not the largest in size and one of the oldest school working with l’Atelier. It is counting 850 students of 31 different nationalities, from ages 2 to 18 years, a number that should drastically rise given that ISHCMC will open its second campus in District 2 for the fall of 2017.

  • Montessori International School : Welcoming students from 6 months to 9 years old, the school is part of the network and the Montessori method and is distinguished by sensorial and practical activities, as well cultural disciplines in addition to a more traditional education.

French Speaking Schools of District 2 :

  • Crèche Bambou-Bulles : Bilingual Kindergaten since 1999, this institution welcomes children from 3 months old to 3 years old.
  • Ecole Phare Antonia : Founded in 1999, the school follows the French calendar of “maternelle” and “élémentaire” levels, with learning to read from 3 years and English from 6 years old (5-6 hours per week), with classes of up to 16 students.

  • Ecole Saint-Ange : From nursery to CM2, the school follows the French National Education program with additional English courses.

  • Lycée Français International Marguerite Duras : Established in 1977, Marguerite Duras has a kindergarten, primary, college and a high school, welcoming a total of 920 students – mainly French (12% of Vietnamese) – supervised by professors of the French National Education. The cost of registration is lower than its other Anglo-Saxon counterparts. Its campus was renovated in 2010 and is not located in District 2, but in District 9, about thirty minutes from D2.
